Quell Reflect
Quell Reflect is the sequel to Quell a beautiful app that had us mesmerised with its simplistic game play, challenging levels and mesmerizing music. So we were pretty excited when we discovered not much more than a year after its original release the developers have followed up with a sequel. Quell Reflect stays true to what made the original so great and manages to integrate several unique new additions that keep the game fresh and challenging. If you haven’t played the original I would seriously suggest you get both and play it first as its a timeless classic. 5/5
Trainyard
Trainyard is an innovative and challenging puzzler created by developer Matt Rix. Very few developers put the same level of effort and thought into there apps as Matt has with trainyard. The whole user experience is exceptional, the levels are broken down into categories named after real train stations, you receive stars for completing a level and need to complete a certain amount of levels to unlock the next category/train station and progress. Mayan Puzzle
Mayan Puzzle is another match 3 game except instead of moving blocks one space they can move anywhere a long a horizontal line. This can be confusing if you’re used to the usual match 3 type games but once you get used to it, it’s actually pretty refreshing. There are four modes our favourite is classic mode in which you are presented with a puzzle that has to be solved in a handful of moves. Quell is an epic zen puzzler guaranteed to tax your brain. Lovingly crafted with a simply beautiful UI super smooth gameplay a long with a relaxing soundtrack composed by Steven Cravis. The premise of Quell is to navigate a rain drop around increasingly challenging mazes to collect all the pearls using the least moves possible. There are plenty of achievements and over 70 levels to keep you occupied, upon writing this we’re about half way through and going to cut this review short as we jump back into the game before we have to stop and do some actual work. Babo Crash HD is a unique match 3 game. Visually stunning and well executed, the aim of the game is to match enough combinations before the timer runs out. Each level becomes increasingly difficult. Match four of any colour and a corresponding Babo hero will appear each with a unique ability some of which can be manipulated by rotating the screen to help you destroy crystals. Toki Tori is a highly entertaining and addictive puzzle platformer like nothing you have played before. All though Toki Tori is available on multiple platforms it feels like it was made for the touch screen of an iPhone/iPad the controls are excellent and the graphics absolutely stunning! 80 Challenging levels spread over 4 intriguing worlds. You are armed with an arsenal of items to make your way through each level and collect all the eggs to proceed. Since purchasing this app we have barely been able to put it down a must get for all iPhone/iPod Touch and ipad users.
