App CrunchThe leading website in showcasing quality iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad apps
Springpad
Springpad is a web pp and iPhone app I have recently started using and it’s really growing on me. My most regularly used iPhone apps are ones that increase my productivity or work flow and springpad fits in really nicely. Allows for quick and easy saving of ideas and memos with an intuitive design. With the option to import Delicious bookmarks is a good enough reason on it’s own to download the app being there are not any decent delicious apps on iTunes and the recent controversy about Yahoo possibly shutting the service down!
Adobe Ideas
Adobe Ideas is pretty much Photoshop for your iPhone/iPad or iPod Touch. The basic version is completely free but there is an in app purchase price of £2.99/$4.99 to unlock the ability to use 15 layers. One layer is probably enough for most users and the app isn’t just for creating drawings you can use it for quickly writing down ideas, mind mapping and brain storming etc There are tons of included settings, a colour picker, different brush sizes and a really cool smoothing effect that makes even the messiest of hand writing look good!
Infinity Blade
The highly anticipated Infinity Blade has just been released, is there an iPhone owner who hasn’t been waiting for this game since the announcement was made a few months ago? First they gave us Epic Citadel which literally blew us away with the incredible graphics based on the unreal engine exclusively for iPhone. Infinity Blade is seriously raising the bar and we expect to see more polished, involving gaming experiences like this in the future. At only £3.49/$5.99 that’s an incredile price for what is effectively a triple A title and will no doubt have the competition (hello Sony and Nintendo) quaking. Infinity blade gameplay...
Momento
Momento is the missing iPhone app that should be included with every device. The app itself is pretty simple it’s a private diary slash life stream app for recording moments as you go optionally including various online services as well such as twitter, facebook, youtube, flickr, digg, gowalla and many more. It’s the execution of the app it’s layout and beautiful design that really make this app what it is. Every detail form the icon is beautifully crafted, the app is incredibly simple to use, clearly a lot of effort has been put into the UI and it’s paid off. Anyone familiar with any of...
Google Voice
Until Apple relaxed the App Store app restrictions it seemed unlikely the previously rejected Google Voice would ever see light of day on an iPhone. That’s finally changed and the app is now available completely free. Includes all the goodness of Google voice you would expect including push notifications. Currently only available to the US iTunes store though so brits are currently out of luck.
Skyfire Browser
People have been asking for flash ever since.. well ever since the iPhone was launched but Apple reluctant to add it citing poor batter performance and a host of other excuses cue Skyfire Web Browser. Promises to give you flash video while browsing and it works. It’s slightly clumsy to navigate at first but give it some time and this could be an exceptional app. If you miss flash then it’s all ready a must own item. 3/5
Zen Bound
Zen Bound® is a calm and meditative puzzle game about wrapping wooden sculptures with rope. A game in which a high score is not the goal – instead it is something to focus on and enjoy at your own relaxed pace. It is a tactile experience: a game of wood, stone and rope with some of the most beautiful graphics seen on the iPhone. The visuals complement the controls to provide interaction that feels natural and comfortable. A major element of the game is the unique, dusty and soothing down-tempo soundtrack designed and composed by ‘Ghost Monkey’. It features binaural processing that creates an enveloping...
App Crunch – Redesign
You may have wondered why we have been a bit quiet lately, and now I can finally show why. We have worked hard to release a brand new design App Crunch v4. Wait wasn’t the last design v2? Yes it was and v3 was completed a couple of months ago but was scrapped as we decided to start again from scratch. We listened to your opinion, where before the site was set up as a gallery people wanted excerpt of the reviews on the homepage without having to click into each article and that’s exactly what we have done. But if you preferred the older...
