The biggest down side to Weddar in the UK is the current lack of users. However as it grows in popularity this will change so if anything now an opportunity to cement yourself as the #1 Weddar reporter in the UK.

At the moment you can currently only register using either a twitter or facebook account. But the developers have announced an alternative independent registration service will be added soon.
