So I have had to travel quite a bit over the last few days, during downtime I have been playing with a new facts app called Qwiki. It simply takes your location and returns interesting facts about places near to you. Educational and fun at the same time, a few of the facts even peaked my interest enough to actually go and view the places my self.

Qwiki offers an entertaining way to quickly discover interesting facts about anywhere you happen to be located be it your home town or the places you visit. If you find a specific fact interesting you can click the tabs at the top and get additional information from Wikipedia, view the location on a map and see some actual photos too.

The app is well designed, looks good and usability is very well implemented. As soon as you open the app it jumps straight to the facts once you load it up and cuts out any unnecessary clicks, doesn’t overload you with information and provides just enough info for each fact but with the addition of further info available through other sources it does a very good job at covering all bases. 3.5/5
