Momento

Momento is the missing iPhone app that should be included with every device. The app itself is pretty simple it’s a private diary slash life stream app for recording moments as you go optionally including various online services as well such as twitter, facebook, youtube, flickr, digg, gowalla and many more.

It’s the execution of the app it’s layout and beautiful design that really make this app what it is. Every detail form the icon is beautifully crafted, the app is incredibly simple to use, clearly a lot of effort has been put into the UI and it’s paid off.

Anyone familiar with any of the twitter apps will feel at home as adding new moments is much like the process of adding a new tweet.

The premise is to simply record moments in your personal diary, there are plenty of optional features too when adding a moment you can rate it from 0-5, tag people, places, events and attach photos by either taking a new one or choosing from the camera roll.

You can quickly filter your moments by type ie if you just want to see your flickr photos or your foursquare checkins you can do that in moments.

In a world where we become increasingly aware of privacy Momento gives you full control of your data with the ability set a passcode on launch and to either export all your moments to a computer or backup & restore your data to the device so if for any reason it gets corrupted you can quickly restore form a previous backup.

We would love to see a web service integration as I could see myself recording moments form my laptop and syncing between devices. Fingers crossed.

Verdict: Momento is made of awesomeness, if you thought diaries were dead you were dead wrong.
