One of our favourite and most used apps – VLC Remote just got an update making it even more accessible with a refreshed icon taking advantage of the Retina Display in the iPhone 4 and Multi Tasking support for iOS4.

One of the main updates in this version is the inclusion Multi Tasking support, you can leave the app running, check imdb, or any other app or put your iDevice to sleep then return to VLC Remote and continue from the screen where you left it, which takes all the effort out of having to relaunch the app and is a huge improvement.

If you aren’t all ready familiar with this app then VLC Remote really compliments VLC Player (arguably the best light weight media player available) giving you media centre like control from anywhere you have WiFi access (can be set up to be accessed from literally anywhere). installation is an absolute breeze, install the app, and vlc player then just run the VLC Setup program on your computer available from the hobbyist software website. One click is all it requires and you’re good to go.

If like me you keep your media in the same drive or folder you can set it up so VLC automagically goes to this location first. VLC Remote is easily one of our most used apps and we can’t recommend it highly enough, go check it out.
