- Camera+ removed from AppStore
The awesome Camera+ iPhone App from taptaptap has been pulled from the App Store. They recently submitted a new version that allows users to take photos using the volume buttons. Something users have been crying out for, for a long time but Apple rejected it (for the second time). Seemingly un-phased taptaptap built the feature in anyway and had it disabled with the option hidden from within the menu (similar to the recent flashlight app that actually allowed iPhone tethering).
A couple of days ago taptaptap published a cryptic twitter message that contained the following code:
pnzcyhf://ranoyribyhzrfan
The message was deleted after 30 minutes, the code translates to: camplus://enablevolumesnap which when typed in Safari launches Camera+ and enables the very feature the app was rejected for. It’s a great feature and I love it, it makes taking photos with the iPhone 4 so much more natural. However I’m also surprised they openly made this public when they recently posted just how well Camera+ was doing in the appstore and that sales were expected to grow. Well not anymore, not since the app has been pulled anyway.
Were not sure how this will pan out for taptaptap but we think Apple will probably re-allow the app once this feature has been disabled which is a shame as it means current users will have to weigh up upgrading for new features and losing volume snap.

What happened? The app is not in the Store :(
